Tilmonex 250 Oral

COMPOSITION:

Each liter contains:
Tilmicosin (as Tilmicosin phosphate) 250 gms
Excipients ad 1 liter

MODE OF ACTION:

Binding to the 505 subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibiting translocation of peptidyl-tRNA from the A site to the P site. The result of this inhibition is that bacteria are not able to complete proteins that are essential for life. Macrolides (Tilmicosin) are bacteriostatic.

INDICATIONS:

TILMONEX 250 Oral is indicated for the control and treatment of respiratory infections associated with tilmicosin-susceptible micro-organisms such as Mycoplasma spp. Pasteurella multocida, Actionobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Actinomyces pyogenes and Mannheimia haemolytica in calves, chickens and turkeys.

CONTRA INDICATIONS:

• Hypersensitivity or resistance to tilmicosin
• Concurrent administration of other macrolides or lincosamides
• Administration to animals with an active microbial digestion or to equine or caprine species
• Parenteral administration, especially in porcine species

DOSAGE:

Poultry: 300 ml per 1000 liters of drinking water (75 ppm) for 3 days

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

Broilers: 12 days
